Global Tiger Workshop Workshop World Bank and GTI, Kathmandu, Nepal 27-30 October 2009

From October 27-30, 2009, the Government of Nepal, will host the Global Tiger Workshop, which is being co-organized jointly with the World Bank and other GTI participants. The aim of the Global Tiger Workshop is to frame innovative on-ground strategies for tiger conservation based on best practices identified during the last few decades as well as extensive consultations with governments, NGOs, conservation experts and practitioners. This milestone meeting will also serve the purpose of implementing Decision 14.70, adopted at the last meeting of the Conference of the Parties to CITES, and further consolidating and promoting action-oriented solutions towards the fulfillment of the GTI objectives. Remi Chandran (UNU-IIST) will present the WEMS Project at this workshop.
