XGAP (XML Generador de Aplicaciones) is an automatic code generation tool developed in National University of the Center of Buenos Aires Province (UNICEN), Argentina. XGAP relies on specifying applications through XML files. Based on such files, the application code is generated according to rules written in XSL. Even though the tool presents very powerful conceptual and architectural features, the effectiveness of its usage is limited due to the lack of tools supporting the development process. This seminar presents the development of NoGap, an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for developing applications using XGAP. The IDE has been defined as a web application which offers services for collaborative distributed development in a seamless way. The development stages of NoGap, functional and non-functional requirements, architecture, design details, and tools and technologies used for its implementation are presented. In addition, a demonstration of NoGap will be conducted to show its main features. Finally, lessons learnt and future work are discussed.
