Dr. Dzhusupova Zamira is a Project Manager at the UNU International Institute for Software Technology (UNU-IIST) located in Macao SAR, China. At UNU-IIST, she belongs to the Center for Electronic Governance and is responsible for managing electronic governance projects, education and training. Prior to joining UNU-IIST in 2008 as a Senior Researcher for the Center for Electronic Governance, she has worked for UNDP in Kyrgyzstan as a coordinator of ICT for Development component of the Democratic Governance Programme and for the World Bank as a coordinator for ICT of the Land and Real Estate Registration project in Kyrgyzstan.
She has experience as a researcher and practitioner in ICT for Development (ICTD), Electronic Governance (EGOV), Knowledge Management (KM) and Management Information Systems (MIS) for more than 25 years. She initiated and led a number of ICT4D, EGOV, and KM related projects funded by World Bank, UNDP and governments since 2000, ICT for Management projects in academia, banking sector and industrial enterprises since 1980.
She has been involved in capacity building activities by developing courses and teaching them in UNU-IIST as well as in the Academy of Management in Kyrgyzstan for Master Programme on Information Systems in Public Administration; designing and delivering training programs within UNDP and World Bank projects; leading design and development of e-learning courses and e-government applications; supervising UNU-IIST junior researchers and fellows; organizing a number of national and international conferences, workshops and schools in developing countries. She provides services as a Program Committee Member of several international conferences and has a number of publications related to ICT4D, EGOV, KM and MIS in journals, proceedings of the international conferences, policy documents and technical reports.
Dr. Dzhusupova’s research interests include ICT4D impact assessment, EGOV - Assessment, Strategic Planning and Program Design; KM - frameworks, policies and applications.
She holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from International Academy on System Studies in Moscow, University degree (M.Sc.equivalent) in Automated Management Systems (with Hons) from Bauman StateTechnical University in Moscow, and University degree in Finance and Credit (with Hons) from State National University in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.
